Read about the behind-the-scenes reactions to Colbert's speech. I did a google news search to check out the media's coverage of the story and they hardly mentioned the Colbert speech. I then realized that on technorati, the blogs, had better coverage of the event. This is sick! Piracy worse than child pornography?

It appears that the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) will have a maximum sentence of ten years inside for the crime of software and music piracy. It will also give the FBI the powers to wiretap suspected pirates.

For example assaulting a police officer will get you five years, downloading child porn will get you seven years, assaulting without a weapon will get you ten years and aggravated assault six years.

[But] if you copy Craig David's CD you get ten years, but if you punch him in the face and pummel him into a seven day coma you will only get six.

This is completely retarded (no offence to the mentally handicapped, I'm sure they wouldn't violate civil liberties as badly as this) because the DMCA puts corporate property above the privacy of citizens.

For those that don't know, I am a recording artists (Me! *Colombian Hip Hop*) and I release albums and CD's on a regular basis. But I plan on releasing my next album with this logo (pictured on the right) instead of the fascist FBI logo (above in blue) that treats fans like criminals for wanting to enjoy your music. If your music is good enough the fans will pay for it, what are you afraid of?

Fuck this bullshit! I don't want my fans to face 10 years for bootlegging my music, let them all bootleg it and sell it for gas money. Music is for the people, quote me on that!

Holy mother of Moses, that was beautiful! They summed it all, the various scandals of the Bush Crime Family. As I mentioned before in ChicoTown.com, a state legislature can introduce articles of impeachment and force Congress into doing the same.

Funny Idea: Impeach Money!

Some dude received this bill and he's got it in his wallet. He also predicted:

Even though he assumes it's illegal to deface currency, here's the actual law:

Otherwise, "modifying" your bills to bring about social awareness in a manner that does not deem the bill unfit for circulation should not be a problem.

I voted for Bush in 1992, but that was the last time I voted Republican.

I personally wish we all could "come as we are" and not have to conform to one of these 2 parties in order to get elected. A two-sided mafia runs the U.S. government, but running as a Democrat is the best available option for turning back the damage cause by the Bush Crime Family. Kos' explanation couldn't have been better.

Rummy should NOT Resign!

Stop picking on Donald Rumsfeld for the Iraq War mistakes...

Everyone and their mother is picking on Donald Rumsfeld and asking for his head on a platter. From top dog retired Army Generals, to Senators, to candidates for the Senate, to state Governors, to Congressmen, and others (The Rummy Mutiny)... everyone wants Rummy's ass out of the Pentagon for the Iraq war screw-up.

But, says Greg Palast, all of the finger pointing in Rummy's direction is wrong! Here's why:

It wasn't Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld who stood up in front of the UN and identified two mobile latrines as biological weapons labs, was it, General Powell?

It wasn't Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld who told us our next warning from Saddam could be a mushroom cloud, was it Condoleeza?

It wasn't Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld who declared that Al Qaeda and Saddam were going steady, was it, Mr. Cheney?

Yes, Rumsfeld is a swaggering bag of mendacious arrogance, a duplicitous chicken-hawk, yellow-bellied bully-boy and Tinker-Toy Napoleon -- but he didn't appoint himself Secretary of Defense.

Wait it gets better!

Nothing moves or breathes or spits in the Bush Administration without Darth Cheney's growl of approval. And ultimately, it's the Commander-in-Chief who's chiefly in command.

Even the generals' complaint -- that Rumsfeld didn't give them enough troops -- was ultimately a decision of the cowboy from Crawford.

President Bush is one lucky fella. I can imagine him today on the intercom with Cheney: "Well, pardner, looks like the game's up." And Cheney replies, "Hey, just hang the Rumsfeld dummy out the window until he's taken all their ammo."

When Bush and Cheney read about the call for Rumsfeld's resignation today, I can just hear George saying to Dick, "Mission Accomplished."

Generals, let me give you a bit of advice about choosing a target: It's the President, stupid.
