Piracy worse than child pornography?

Complete bullshit!!!

It appears that the Digital Millenium Copyright Act (DMCA) will have a maximum sentence of ten years inside for the crime of software and music piracy. It will also give the FBI the powers to wiretap suspected pirates.

For example assaulting a police officer will get you five years, downloading child porn will get you seven years, assaulting without a weapon will get you ten years and aggravated assault six years.

[But] if you copy Craig David's CD you get ten years, but if you punch him in the face and pummel him into a seven day coma you will only get six.

This is completely retarded (no offence to the mentally handicapped, I'm sure they wouldn't violate civil liberties as badly as this) because the DMCA puts corporate property above the privacy of citizens.

For those that don't know, I am a recording artists (Me! *Colombian Hip Hop*) and I release albums and CD's on a regular basis. But I plan on releasing my next album with this logo (pictured on the right) instead of the fascist FBI logo (above in blue) that treats fans like criminals for wanting to enjoy your music. If your music is good enough the fans will pay for it, what are you afraid of?

Fuck this bullshit! I don't want my fans to face 10 years for bootlegging my music, let them all bootleg it and sell it for gas money. Music is for the people, quote me on that!

Follow me:

The Coors family partly funded the entire right-wing infrastructure.

Falwell and Pat Robertson lent their support ensuring thousands upon thousands of their followers turned out to vote for Bush.

Therefore, they are as complicit with the results of the Bush regime because they fought tooth and nail to get him elected and insulated with a right-wing media of pundits (Snow from Fox News?) and supporters who need extraordinary scandals to finally question Chimpy-in-Chief.

Unless Robertson and Falwell publicly admit their failure and / or their regret, it is safe to assume that they (and the Coors family) approve and support all of the policies that are spawned from their pet president.

If you voted for Bush and still do not live to regret that vote to this very day, then we can assume that you support all of his scandals, crimes, lies, and violations of our consitution. Do you? The longer you remain silent the more you look complicit.

Nothing could be more asinine. Just because I vote for someone doesn't mean I agree with everything that person stands for. It means I agree with more than I disagree. Or, it means I think the alternative candidate is much worse.

Nor does it mean I agree with everyone who supported my candidate. 60 million people voted for Bush: you and that idiotic CL are saying that if someone who supports pornography voted for Bush, then everyone who voted for Bush supports pornography.

Get help. Now.

($50 says this doesn't make it past moderation. You lefties can sure dish it out, but you can't take it)

Where's my $50?

I actually wanted to turn my long ass comment into a blog post but you already brought it over to ChicoTown.com for me, thanks!

If you voted, campaigned, contributed, or assisted Bush in ANY way, shape, or form you are complicit in all of the crimes, lies, and scandal. Point blank. Unless of course... you clearly admit you were wrong AND you are actively working to rememdy to problem.

I have long time friends who voted Republican their whole lives and now they are jumping ship and supporting the Libertarian party to help oppose the Bush Crime Family for thier violations on our civil liberties.

The question remains, are you helping to remedy the problems or are you still complicit in the crimes?

By the way I can forward you my PayPal account so you can pay me my $50. I need it to pay for the HIGH GAS PRICES caused by the texas-Oil syndicate with big buddies in the White House.

Just proves industries with money can push bad laws through faster than activists avidly trying to push legislation that is right (fighting child porn) take a back seat to big money.

(Off topic- funny thing about Lilith is that I was going to use her image for the post but figured no one would get it. Should've known you would. Have a great weekend.)

In one word, Kathleen, that's called Fascism!

Big business controls government, government works for Big Business, the individual citizen gets screwed.

About Lilith, I assumed that you already knew about her too, but just in case I dropped a quick mention. We're on the same page again. Enjoy the weekend, Monday is no immigrant day so I'll be out doing some sort of protesting. Peace!
