Free Speech VS Islam: Absolutely NO Respect

This is a real fucked up situation for everyone involved.

The recent uproar in the Muslim world over the cartoons printed in Europe made a bad situation worse. Bottom line, there is no respect coming from either side. In democratic societies we cherish and fight for our freedom of speech. But making offensive cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed is a REAL low blow that was bound to get some shit started.

A main reason why some Islamic and westernized societies are beefing lately is simply because of a lack of respect. They both lack the respect for each other's right to exist and each other's customs.

Live and let live, respect and you'll be respected. We can't sacrifice our freedom of speech and our right to openly question and criticize one another but then again don't fuck with the Prophet Mohammed. He has as much to do with our current problems as Jesus does for Pat Robertson's loud mouth. Leave the martyrs and biblical figures out of this and let's handle our problems amongst ourselves... respectfully!

I like your analysis. You hit it on the head "respect" .. this is what it lacks .. if you gon talk the talk .. walk it.

Keep it up.

Mohamed.

Thanks 4 the feedback. I'm glad we all agree the more bigotry will only harm the situation further. Like a friend told me: with Free-Speach comes a big responsiblity.

Now Iran wants to do Holocaust cartoons... this "eye for an eye" shit is stupid. I know that plenty of moderate musslims are against these retarded riots and hateful remarks. Some one needs to set the example to spread peace not hate. Thankfully the blogs are here to chip away at the traditional media's hatemongering-for-profits.

Thanks for the props Kat!

I bet when it's Rev. Lowery's turn to pass on, Coretta and Martin will be waiting to give him a hug.

I heard about the Holocaust cartoons, but at least he's using words and not nuclear bombs.
